Cookie Policy

This Cookie Policy explains how Freedom Ghana uses cookies and similar technologies on our website, and the comparable tools we use inside our mobile apps, what they do, why we use them, and how you can control them.

  • No selling of data to advertisers
  • You can control cookies anytime
01

What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. “Similar technologies” include local storage, web beacons, software development kits (SDKs), and device or advertising identifiers used inside mobile apps. Together they help our Services function, remember your preferences, and improve over time.

This policy sits alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains more broadly how we handle your personal information.

02

How we use cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies for the following purposes:

Essential

Required for the website to work, for example, page navigation, security, and load balancing. These cannot be switched off in our systems.

Preferences

Remember choices you make, such as your language or region, so we can give you a more personalised experience.

Analytics & performance

Help us understand how visitors use the site, which pages are popular and where problems occur, so we can improve it. This data is aggregated and used to make the Services better.

03

Cookies & identifiers in our apps

Our mobile apps generally do not use browser cookies. Instead, they use comparable technologies to deliver the service, including:

  • Secure local storage on your device to keep you signed in and remember settings.
  • Push-notification tokens so we can send ride and delivery updates.
  • Device and diagnostic identifiers used to keep the app secure and to diagnose crashes and performance issues.

These are described in more detail in our Privacy Policy.

04

Third-party cookies & SDKs

Some trusted providers that power the Services, such as analytics, maps, and error-monitoring tools, may set their own cookies or use their own identifiers when you use the site or apps. These are governed by the providers’ own privacy and cookie policies. We do not allow third parties to use your information for their own advertising.

05

Managing your choices

You are in control of cookies and identifiers:

  • Browser: most browsers let you view, block, or delete cookies in their settings. Blocking essential cookies may stop parts of the site from working.
  • Mobile device: you can reset or limit your advertising identifier and manage app permissions in your device settings.
  • App permissions: notifications and other permissions can be turned on or off at any time in your device settings.
06

Do Not Track

Some browsers offer a “Do Not Track” signal. Because there is no common industry standard for how to respond to these signals, we do not currently respond to them. We will update this policy if that changes.

07

Changes to this policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in technology or our practices. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
